" ITS BREAKING NEWS " MOVIE SYNOPSIS:
Vidya Sehgal works for a TV channel in the entertainment section. She is transferred to the crime beat when her colleague and boyfriend, Bala, quits the job to join a rival channel, without giving any notice. One day, Sangeeta, a girl who has been sexually exploited by a top police officer, Gupta, contacts Vidya. Although Sangeeta wants Vidya’s help only to get justice, Vidya coerces her into participating in a sting operation to expose the police officer with proof on camera. She, however, gives her word to Sangeeta that the tape showing her being sexually exploited by SP Gupta’s friend, DIG Dandekar, would not be aired. But to Vidya’s utter shock, her seniors telecast the objectionable portions of the sting operation. Disturbed and dejected, Vidya succeeds in convincing Sangeeta that it wasn’t her fault. She then helps Sangeeta in battling it out in the court but to Vidya’s dismay, Sangeeta settles the matter out of court with the police officer by accepting money and property from him.
